Yes, we were blessed enough to have two vacations back to back this year. Following our week in NC, we drove 8 hours south to a place my family has vacaction for the last 10-15 years: Kiawah Island, SC. While yes, this drive was considerably less than what we had accomplished only a week prior, it felt about 100 times as long. This due to the fact that the air conditioning in our van went out about 20 minutes into our trip. We grew to have an enormous appreciation for those who travel in much hotter climates without A/C on a regular basis. We are so spoiled. And yes, I am SO SO SO thankful for air conditioned cars. I'll spare you the gory details of the drive, but we'll suffice it to say that we made it, all of us, in one piece.
We had a wonderful week with my family. It was so much fun to hang out with them, especially with Caroline who just finished her second year at Taylor. Again, the first part of the week was rainy, but we still trucked it out to the beach, or went on walks to observe all sort of wildlife inbetween rainstorms and getting the van fixed.
